အသောကရဲ့ အက္ခရာများ-၂

H.G. Wellsက “ The Outline of History ”မှာ ဒီလို ဆိုထားတယ်…“Amidst the ten thousands of names of monarchs that crowd the columns of history, their majesties and graciousnesses and serenities and royal highnesses and the like, the name of Asoka shines, shines almost alone, like a star.”
ပါရဂူက “ ပိယဒဿီ ”မှာ ဒီလို ရှင်းပြတယ်...“သမိုင်းစာမျက်နှာတွင် နေရာအပြည့်ယူထားသည့် ဘုရင်ဧကရာဇ် ထောင်သောင်းများစွာထဲတွင် ဘုရင်အသောက၏ အမည်နာမသည် တစ်လုံးတည်း ထွန်းတောက်နေသည့် ကြယ်တာရာနှင့် ပမာတူသည်။”

ဘုရင်အသောက ဘယ်လိုများ ထွန်းတောက်နေသလဲဆိုတာတော့ အက္ခရာတွေမှာ ခြေရာခံ လိုက်ကြည့်ရမှာပဲ။

၁။ သ၀တ ဝိဇိတသိ ဒေဝါနံ ပိယသာ ပိယ ဒသိသာ လာဇိနေ ယေ စ အံတာ အထာ စောဍာ ပံဍိယာ သာတိယပုတော ကေလလ ပုတော တံဗပံနိ။
၂။ အံတိယောဂေ နာမ ယောနလာဇာ ယေ စာ အံနေ တသာ အံတိယောဂသာ သာမံတာ လာဇာနော သ၀တာ ဒေဝါနံ ပိယသာ ပိယဒသိသာ လာဇိနေ ဒုဝေ စိကိသကာ ကဋာ မနုသစိကိသာ စာ ပသုစိကိသာ စာ။ သြသဓာနိ မနုသောပဂါနိ စာ ပသောပဂါနိ စ အတတာ နထိ။
၃။ သ၀တာ ဟာလာပိတာ စာ လောပါပိတာ စာ။ ဧ၀မေဝါ မုလာနိ စာ ဖလာနိ စာ အတတာ နထိ သ၀တာ ဟာလာပိတာ စာ လောပါပိတာ စာ။ မဂေသု လုခါနိ လောပိတာနိ ဥဒုပါနာနိ စာ ခါနာပိတာနိ ပဋိဘောဂါယေ ပသုမုနိသာနံ။

မင်းတကာတို့ ချစ်ကြည် လေးစားအပ်၍့ ပိယဒဿီဟု ဝှဲ့ချီ-ခပ်နှိပ် အရှင်မဟာကဿပ မထေရ်မြတ်၏့ ဗျာဒိတ်တော်ကို ခံယူ-ရရှိသော အသောက မင်းတြားမြတ်ကြီး၏ အောင်မြင် အုပ်စိုးတော်မူရာ နိုင်ငံတော်တွင်း အရပ် အားလုံး၌ကဲ့သို့, ထို့အတူ အောင်မြင်စိုးပိုင်သည့် နယ်စွန် အတွင်း၌ ပါဝင်ကုန်သော စောဠတိုင်း, ပံဒုျတိုင်း, သတျ-ပုင်္တြတိုင်း, တမ္ဗပဏ္ဏိတိုင်း အထိ၄င်း, အံတိယောဂအမည်ရှိသော ယောနကမင်းနှင့်တကွ ထိုမင်း၏ လက်အောက်ဖြစ်ကုန်သော သမန္တရာဇ် မင်းတပါးတို့ နိုင်ငံ၌၄င်း, အလုံးစုံသော ဤတိုင်းနိုင်ငံဒေသတို့၌ မင်းတကာတို့ ချစ်ကြည် လေးစားအပ်၍့ ပိယဒဿီဟု ဝှဲ့ချီ-ခပ်နှိပ် အရှင်မဟာကဿပ မထေရ်မြတ်၏့ ဗျာဒိတ်တော်ကို ခံယူ-ရရှိသော အသောက မင်းတြားမြတ်ကြီးသည် လူဆေးကုဆရာ, တိရိစ္ဆာန်ဆေးကုဆရာ ဟု ဤသို့ ၂မျိုး ၂စားသော ဆေးဆရာတို့ကို တည်ထောင်ထားရှိတော်မူအပ်ကုန်၏။
ထို့ပြင် လူတို့အား၄င်း, တီရစ္ဆာန် သား-ငှက်တို့အား၄င်း အသုံးဝင်သော ဆေးပင်-ဝါးပင်တို့ကိုလည်း ထိုထို မရှိ-ကင်းမဲ့ရာ အရပ်တိုင်း၌ ဆောင်ယူ စိုက်ပျိုးစေအပ်ကုန်၏။ ဤအတူလျှင် မရှိ-ခေါင်းပါးသော အရပ်-ဒေသတိုင်း၌ သစ်မြစ်-သစ်ဥနှင့် သစ်သီးပင်တို့ကိုလည်း ဆောင်ယူ စိုက်ပျိုးစေအပ်ကုန်၏။ ထိုမှတပါးလည်း ထိုထို ခရီးလမ်းတို့၌ သား-ငှက် တိရစ္ဆာန်နှင့် ခရီးသွားသူ လူတို့ နားခိုမှီဝဲ-သုံးဆောင်စေရန် သစ်ပင်အစားစား စိုက်ပျိုးထားရှိစေ၍ ရေတွင်းရေကန်တို့ကိုလည်း တူး-ဆယ် တည်ထားစေအပ်ကုန်၏။

နတ်တို့ ချစ်မြတ်နိုးသော ပိယဒသီမင်းကြီး၏ နိုင်ငံတော် အတွင်း အရပ်ရပ်တို့၌၄င်း နိုင်ငံတော်၏ အစွန်အပ စောဋ(စောဠ) ပံဒိယ(ပံဏ္ဍျ) သာတိယာပုတ, ကေလလပုတ, တံဗပံနိ(တဗ္ဗပဏ္ဏိ) အံတိယောဂ(အန္တိယောက) အမည်တော်ရှိသော ယောနမင်းနှင့် ထိုမင်း၏ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင် အခြားမင်းတို့၏ တိုင်းများအတွင်း အရပ်ရပ်တို့၌၄င်း၊ နတ်တို့ ချစ်မြတ်နိုးသော ပိယဒသီမင်းကြီးသည် လူတို့အား ကုစားခြင်း တိရစ္ဆာန်တို့အား ကုစားခြင်းဟူသော ဆေးကုစားခြင်း နှစ်မျိုးကို တည်ထားတော်မူ၏။
လူတို့အဖို့၄င်း၊ တိရစ္ဆာန်တို့အဖို့၄င်း အသုံးဝင်သော ဆေးပင်တို့ကိုလည်း မရှိသေးသော အရပ်တိုင်းတို့သို့ ယူဆောင်စေ၏။ စိုက်ပျိုးစေ၏။ ထိုနည်းတူစွာ သစ်မြစ်သစ်သီးတို့ကိုလည်း မရှိသေးသော အရပ်တိုင်းတို့သို ယူဆောင်စေ၏။ စိုက်ပျိုးစေ၏။
လူနှင့်တိိရစ္ဆာန်တို့ သုံးဆောင်စိမ့်သောငှာ၊ လမ်းတို့၌ သစ်ပင်တို့ကို စိုက်စေ၍ ရေတွင်းတို့ကိုလည်း တူးစေ၏။

ဒေဝါနံပိယ ပိယဒသီမင်း၏ နိုင်ငံအတွင်း အရပ်-ဒေသအားလုံးတို့၌၄င်း၊ အပြင်အပ ဖြစ်သော စောဠ, ပဏ္ဍယ, သတိယပုတ, ကေရလပုတ, တမ္ဗပဏ္ဏိ, အန္တိယောဂမည်သော ယောနမင်းတို့၏ တိုင်းပြည်များ အတွင်း၌၄င်း ဒေဝါနပိယ ပိယဒသီမင်းသည် လူနှင့်တိရစ္ဆာန်တို့အတွက် ဆေးကုဌာန နှစ်မျိုးထား၏။ လူ, တိရစ္ဆာန်နှင့် သင့်လျော်သော ဆေးပင်တို့ကိုလည်း မရှိသေးသော အရပ်ဒေသသို့ ယူဆောင်စိုက်ပျိုးစေ၏။ ဤအတူ သစ်မြစ်သစ်သီးပင်တို့ကိုလည်း မရှိသေးသော အရပ်ဒေသသို့ ယူဆောင်စိုက်ပျိုးစေ၏။ လမ်းခရီးတို့၌ တိရစ္ဆာန်နှင့်လူတို့ သုံးဆောင်ရန် သစ်ပင်တို့ကို စိုက်ပျိုးစေရန် ရေတွင်းတို့ကို တူးစေ၏။

Everywhere within the dominion of His Sacred and Gracious Majesty the King, and likewise among the frontages such as the Cholas, Pāṇḍyas, the Sativaputra, the Keralaputra, what is (known as) Tāmraparṇī, the Greek King, Antiochos, and those kings, too who are the neighbors of that Antiochos-everewhere have been instituted by His Sacred and Gracious Majesty the King two kinds of medical treatment-medical treatment of man and medical treatment of beast. Medical herbs also, those wholesome for man and wholesome for beast, have been caused to be imported and to be planted in all places wherever they did not exist.
Roots also, and fruits, have been caused to be imported and to be planted everywhere wherever they did not exist. On the roads, well also have been caused to be dug and trees caused to be planted for the enjoyment of man and beast.
